Olivia / Weekend Update

This weekend my parents came to visit and we had a wonderful time. On Friday we put Liv to bed early so that when mom and dad arrived she would not be cranky. When Mom and Dad went to wake up Liv, she was hilarious. She would look up at us like, excuse me; I am trying to sleep here; and then would roll over and go back to sleep. Mom and Dad kept talking to her and she would get a little more awake every minute. Then when she finally woke all the way up and saw who was rudely disturbing her sleep, she got so excited. They played and she showed them her room and her toys.

When we sat down to eat supper and Liv looked at us like we were out of our minds. I think she thought this is the strangest night I ever had, or maybe she was thinking this is the shortest day I ever had. After dinner, she sang in her microphone for everyone and acted silly like only a Livey can do.

On Saturday we took her to be fitted for her first pair of StrideRite shoes. She had a ball in the store. She LOVES socks and was just giddy that a place would have so many socks. If I turned my head for a minute she was tossing socks out of displays. Mom got Liv two pairs of shoes at the store. She thinks she is big stuff in her new shoes. They must be comfortable, because she wont let me take them off. She used to pitch a fit and kick off her old shoes.

While at the mall, she rode in a kiddy Garfield ride. It looked like she was taking Garfield on a joy ride. I wished I had a camera. I know Jeremy, my brother, would have loved to see it. He loved anything Garfield as a kid.

Well, Liv is getting into the terrible twos early! I am not sure what we are going to do with her. I guess love her and, train up a child in the way she should go.” That verse is so true, because if you are a mom, you know that all they do is GO!!!

Sunday is when the misbehaving began. When I was brushing my teeth that morning, I saw Liv about to throw her hair bow in the toilet. (This is after telling her about 10 times to not unroll all of the toilet paper and to not get under the sink.) I quickly intervened and made it clear that throwing things in the toilet was a no-no and that she should back away from the toilet. She responded by fussing. Then when I wasn't looking she opened the lid and threw her hair bow in closed it real fast and looked at me to see if I saw her. She had to get a small swat on the bottom for it and I put her in her crib to cry it out. THEN on Sunday night, Matt and I heard her go to the bathroom with a toy. We followed her and got there just in time to see her throw her mirror in the toilet and start laughing. She looked up and saw us and ran to hide behind the shower curtain. She had already started to cry because she knew she was in trouble. Matt had to get her out from behind the shower curtain, show her the mirror, and give her a little swat on the behind. I hated to punish her for it, but she can't be throwing things in the toilet. The hardest part about the whole thing was to not bust out laughing when she tried to hide behind the shower curtain.

On Monday, I got Liv’s first negative progress report. My ANGEL had thrown food at her table mate, knocked down a boy, took toys from others, and kept pulling on her friend Abby’s shirt to get a bow off of it. I was asked to not bring this child in but to bring Olivia back. I hope she was better today!

Good old Liv>>>>>>>>
